ABOUT

In 2023, the Open Society Foundation, in consortium with the Pontis Foundation, received a significant donation of $5 million from the Taipei Representative Office in Bratislava. The donation was intended for the reconstruction of Ukraine's devastated civil infrastructure and to support humanitarian projects led by Slovak organizations in Ukraine. These two leading Slovak foundations, through this project, joined existing efforts by the government and humanitarian NGOs. Thanks to Taiwan’s generous donation, Slovakia was able to make a substantial contribution to rebuilding Ukraine’s war-torn infrastructure, particularly in the Chernihiv region.
